Join us to celebrate the Full Long Nights Moon on Friday, December 13th

Yes, that’s right, Friday the 13th has long been an auspicious time for witches, given that there are 13 moons in the year!

This moon has many names, the one above is our favorite. The winter has clenched the climate, and the nights are long. This moon is also often called the Cold Moon for obvious reasons. Anglo Saxons called this moon the Moon before Yule. Winter is a time of introspection, of staying indoors and opening your eyes to the subtleties of life. In order to start 2020 afresh, we take stock and notice who we’ve become.

It’s also a great time to celebrate the people we love, to open the cycle of generosity. We feel it’s important to darn the broken seams of life, and be kind to those who need help. Many people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, and holidays can be especially challenging for some. Thus, we will be giving a third of our proceeds this month to Jubilee Women’s Center or Mend Seattle.

This moon is our closest moon to the Winter Solstice, and this will lend an air of Yule celebration to our festivities.

In addition:

  • December 8th, festival of Ixchel, the jaguar moon goddess of medicine and midwifery among the Maya; festival of Neith in Egypt, creator of the Universe, and mother of the Sun God Ra

  • December 17th-23rd, Saturnalia in Rome, a feast of the god Saturn, who ruled wealth, time, and paternal ways

  • December 21st, Winter Solstice, Yule! Celtic festival of the Stars, Osiris return to Isis in Egypt.

This full moon occurs in Gemini, so community and communication will be key. We will gather from 7-9pm to bring community, ceremony and spellcraft to the occurrence. This may or may not be like other celebrations you’ve attended. We will blend ritual, writing, and movement. But more importantly, we will blend our hearts to stir up the courage needed so badly in the world today. Please bring a journal and writing utensil.

Price above is a suggested donation. If you pay ahead, the price is fixed. If you want to pay the day of, register and choose “pay day of" and you can pay what you like— we take cash, venmo and paypal. Preregistration is required. Invite your friends! Register early, we sell out! And, if minimum registration isn’t met 24 hours prior, circle will be called off for the month.

Open to all women and nonbinaries.

Location will be emailed out closer to date. Call with any questions 206-683-1838.
